28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks. 12 more weeks to go!

Total weight gain: +7 lbs from my pre pregnancy weight. +5 lbs from last months appointment.  So far so good. I would be lying if I said that I don't have anxiety about blowing up during this last trimester. I'm terrified of the weight gain and how big I will get.

Maternity clothes: Yes, pretty much everything is maternity these days except for my summer dresses and a few looser tops that I have.

Stretch marks: I think I have one. It's a small mark near my belly button. AGH. And yes I have been using the lotion/oil although I really don't think it makes a difference necessarily.

Sleep:  Typically I am sleeping pretty well. I get up once (sometimes twice now) during the night and occasionally I can't fall back asleep for 2-3 hours afterwards. Fendi Foo the howling cat, has calmed down.

Best moment of this week:  Once again, she refused to show her face for the ultrasound. She actually had her hand blocking her face, which was cool because I could tell it was a hand! I am HORRIBLE at deciphering ultrasounds. Anyways, they were able to get the lip/chin shot they needed, but we will be back for another ultrasound to hopefully get a profile pic. Oh and I received an invitation for my first baby shower!

Food cravings: None really. I have been drawn to white rice with butter - weird, right?

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. I wish it wasn't so hot so I could actually walk outside and get some exercise. Between work and play, I have only been working out twice a week ish. And then I feel like I have hardly worked out since I can barely do anything.

Have you started to show yet:  Absolutely. I feel huge, but I know I'm not "that" big.  Terrified for what these next 3 months hold. :)

Gender: Baby Britney. Although we won't be sharing her name until delivery. Not that we even have a name now.

Labor signs: No.

Belly button in or out: In.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Excited & scared. I cannot wait to meet her! And at the same time it is so scary that 12 weeks is right around the corner. Our crib, dresser and the pack & play are set up. The nursery should be getting painted sometime in the next month.

Looking forward to: My first shower in a couple of weeks!

Smokey Mesquite BBQ Meatball Sliders & Baked Penne

If you read my previous post you know that J & I have a friend we like to lovingly call "The Roommate." TR (The Roommate) also goes by the name Daddy's Jewels and has made appearances on this blog before. TR/DJ was recently promoted and moved back to the area, but needed a place to stay for a few weeks until her place was ready. Last Sunday she wanted to cook dinner and found this amazing recipe on Pinterest that we all loved. I wish I could take credit that we came up with this totally unhealthy, amazing idea, but I can't. Instead, may I present:

Holy cow these were good. I mean really, really good. J loved them. I loved them. TR/DJ loved them. They seemed to not take a long time to make either (although I was also watching Law & Order SVU so I'm not really sure how long they actually took). We also had leftovers and they were just as good heated up the next day or two. I swear this little concoction is something everyone will enjoy and would be great for football season, parties, date night (you may want to cut out the onions), etc. This recipe is not mine, but you can get it here.

Another recipe that was a hit last week was the Baked Penne that I stumbled across on Pinterest.

This was simple to make and tasted great. It also made plenty of leftovers that reheated nicely. I will definitely use it again. You can get this recipe here.

Both recipes were a nice, welcomed change from my steamed veggies and baked chicken/fish dinners. My poor house guests. Clearly I am starving them.

**Both pictures are from the recipe sites and are not mine. I mean did you really think I could take great photos like that from my iphone?

24 Weeks

How far along: We are at 24 weeks today.

Total weight gain: +2 lbs from my pre pregnancy weight. +5 lbs from last months appointment. Agh. I mean I have a belly so I guess it's about time for the scale to shoot up.  I don't know if I can handle that.

Maternity clothes: Yes, pretty much everything is maternity these days except for my summer dresses and a few looser tops that I have.

Stretch marks:None I think. I guess I need to start getting some belly lotion or whatever to help prevent....even though I'm pretty positive it's just a marketing scam. :)

Sleep:  Typically I am sleeping pretty well. I get up once during the night and sometimes (maybe once or twice a week) I can't fall back asleep for 2-3 hours afterwards. I also have this crazy cat named Fendi Foo who goes on howling sprees to try and prepare us for a baby. Yup.

Best moment of this week:  I finally decided on nursery colors (navy, coral and gray). Plus the baby moves all the time and I LOVE IT.

Food cravings: I am really loving some Ben & Jerry's ice cream, but will be cutting that out! Sweets are sounding better and better even though I was never a big sweets person. Of course cheese fries and chips sound good too. I definitely do not give in to all of that although I wish I could!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: My allergies have been bothering my eyes so badly. All of the allergy eye drops are class C which means I'm not risking it.

Have you started to show yet:  I sure have. I feel like my belly has blown up this month. It scares me that I will only be getting bigger and bigger since I still have roughly 16 weeks to go.

Gender: Baby Britney. Although we won't be sharing her name until delivery. Not that we even have a name now. I may just name her after Miss Friski.

Labor signs: No.

Belly button in or out: In.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and stressed. I feel like October is so far away and yet it doesn't seem there is enough time to get everything done. We ordered her furniture this weekend and it should be here this week. Colors are picked out. There are so many things (expensive things at that) that she will need like a car seat and all. Overwhelmed might be the best way to describe me. Not to mention finding a daycare, pediatrician, etc.

Looking forward to: My roommate moving out (are you reading this DJ?!) Doesn't that sound harsh? One of my friends has been with us for a couple of weeks until her place is ready. I love having her stay with us because we catch up on PLL, Real Housewives, we cook, clean, etc., but when she moves out that means that we will have access to her pool and I am looking forward to swimming as the next two months will be getting HOTTER! That seriously is the only reason I am letting her go. :)
