Am I the only person who feels like we just celebrated Valentine's Day?!?
Seriously, the weeks have been flying by these last few months. I cannot believe that spring is right around the corner and the next big holiday, Saint Patrick's Day, is next week.
This holiday sparks a few memories for me such as green beer, scrambling to find something green to throw on, and proudly sporting a "Kiss Me I'm Irish" button. That being said, let me reach into my pot of gold and share a few shimmering facts with you.
1. I don't drink beer, like ever. If you see me with a beer in my hand it's a desperate time that called for a desperate measure. Therefore, green beer doesn't thrill or excite me - at all.
2. I hardly own anything green. That includes, but is not limited to: shirts, underwear, pants, workout clothes, jewelry, etc. Why do I have such issues with the color green? Because the private school I went to for six years was obsessed with it. It was one of the school colors and it was EVERYWHERE. Hence, why it is scarce post high school.
3. I'm not Irish. In fact, I have no idea what my heritage is, but I like sassy buttons with kissy faces on them.
4. Now that I am a mom, less important holidays (such as this one) are frequently searched in an attempt to be a better Pinterest mom. Eh, that's a partial lie, but I strive to make the holidays fun for E.
Today, I'm sharing a few festive ideas to celebrate March 17 - most of which are toddler approved. Notice I said most, not all. Let's face it, sometimes mommy needs a little bit of alcohol.
Morning:
Shamrock Smoothies from Right Meow Or Never |
St. Patrick's Day Pancakes from Morgan Manages Mommyhood |
Noon:
St. Patrick's Day Fruit Salad from Morgan Manages Mommyhood |
Traditional Irish Brown Soda Bread from Tine At Home |
Traditional Irish Potato Pancakes from Tine At Home |
Night:
Cabbage, Bacon & Potatoes from Karyl's Kulinary Krusade |
Sweet Treats:
Leprechaun Punch from Little Dove |
Andes Mint Milkshake from Simply Made Recipes |
Cake Pops from Delicious Little Bites |
Irish Whiskey Cupcakes from The Lucky Pear |
And don't forget the perfect accessory to help you power through the following day - especially if you over-indulged in some green beer!
Coffee Sleeves from The Weary Wallflower |
I'm really loving the cake pops, but have zero faith that mine would look as good.
Do you have big plans for Saint Patrick's Day or anything fun you are doing for the family?
Maybe some Irish luck will find me and I'll remember to wear something green!

DeleteYou had me at Andes Mint Milkshakes!!!! Oh those look good! And I'm with you, we don't ever do anything for St. Patty's Day. It's just never on my radar. I guess I should be ashamed since I'm part Irish! Woops!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing my recipes! I'm loving the coffee sleeve in the last photo, brilliant idea, they'd love that here for sure!
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving permission. :) And yes, the sleeve is super cute - I'm pretty much sold on anything coffee related.
DeleteThanks for sharing my recipe! You can totally make those cake pops! It was only my second time EVER making them! Go for it!
ReplyDeleteI can make recipes taste amazing, but lack in presentation. Maybe I'll have a glass of wine and give it a try!
DeleteI have coworkers texting me as I'm reading this asking about going out to dinner for St. Paddy's Day. I may go to a local festival they have in my area each year. I'll be talking about it in a post later this week.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fun! I'll have to check out the post when it's live. Thanks for stopping by!
